Revlon Chalboard Nail Art Display

I saw these at CVS. I opened the bottle of the colored side of the polish and the brush on that side didn't look small enough to do nail art in my opinion.

Maybelline Fall Collection Display

Here's a picture of the new fall collection from Maybelline. I took close ups of some quads and I ended up purchasing the one with purple green and navy blue so there will be swatches soon!

Wet n Wild Pop Art Craze Collection

These trios usually retail for $2.99 so I would think these are the same price. All trios in the collection are included.

There are three eyeshadow quads, four nail polishes, three lipsticks and some eyeliners that I didn't include close ups.

Nail of the Day

This polish is Bikini by Jessies Girl. Literally the perfect hot pink. The formula is ok, it needs three coats. But I love the color and will continue to use it!

Nordstrom - Buy Two Get One Free Butter London and Deborah Lippmann

If you're a nail polish junkie, or have never tried Butter London or Deborah Lippmann nail polishes, go to Nordstrom.com right away. They are having a buy two get one free sale on Butter London and Deborah Lippmann polishes. Unfortunately, you are not able to mix and match between the two brands. I've never tried Deborah Lippmann, so I just placed my order mere minutes ago. I got two regular polishes and one glitter since she's more known for the glitter and I knew I would get more use out of the regular polishes.

This sale is only good until tomorrow, 8/4/13, so get on it asap!

You are not able to use this promo towards sets, top coats, or base coats. Only one per customer and the code is automatically applied at checkout. I really recommend this sale because Nordstrom has free shipping so you don't even have to shell out extra money for that.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencil - LSD

Hey everyone! I quickly want to apologize for not blogging in forever! My computer was being ridiculously slow and I had no idea why and then this morning when I went to use it, it was fine! I don't know what the problem was or if it's going to come back, but that's why I was gone so long!

Today I have swatches of the Urban Decay Eyeliner in the color LSD. I would describe this as a dark navy blue eyeliner with teal/light blue shimmers in it. I wore this for a full work day (I'm a summer camp counselor so I'm running around all day in the rain/heat/humidity) and it held up all day long.

This eyeliner is $19 for 0.04 oz and can be purchased here from Sephora.

I really enjoy Urban Decay's 24/7 Eyeliners and I think this is a great addition to my collection. It's a great color to define the top lash line and also a great color to add a pop of color to the lower lash line.

Battle of the Colorful Eyeliners

I decided to swatch and water/smudge test all of my colorful eyeliners/eye pencils. I will most likely do this for my black eyeliners as well, but for now, here are the colors so that you can get some use out of the colorful ones while it's still summer! I do have a Battle of the Black Eyeliners, but I didn't test out smudging, I just compared the colors, so CLICK HERE for that.

First Picture : Just Swatches, no primer.

Top to bottom left: Mary Kay Weekender Eye Pencil - Sage, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil - Clash, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil - Delinquent, Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil - Ashen Glow Flame.
Top to bottom middle: Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner - Taupe Takeover (LE), Maybelline Define-A-Line Eyeliner - Turquoise Shock (LE), Covergirl Liquiline Blast - Lime Green Shade (No Name), Covergirl Liquiline Blast - Cobalt Shade (No Name), Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal - 006 Deep Blue.
Top to bottom right: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil - Narc, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - Stash, Stila Kajal Eyeliner - Emerald.

Second Picture: Same shadows with water and slight rubbing.

As you can see, the Mary Kay shadow still has about half of the color payoff, the Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil is completely gone, the Maybelline Define-A-Line Turquoise eyeliner has slight fading, the Stila Eyeliner has slight smudging, and the rest of the shadows held up very well.

Third Picture: The same test as above, but this time, I patted the water off with a towel.

The majority of the shadows and eyeliners look a lot better now that my hand is dry.

Fourth Picture: I rubbed the shadows with dry fingers so imitate smudging by rubbing your eyes.

As you can see, the Mary Kay Shadow is barely visible, the Turquoise Maybelline shadow, the two Covergirl Liquiline Blasts, the Urban Decay Stash Pencil, and the Stila Kajal in Emerald are barely visible. These shadows don't claim to be waterproof or anything, but I did expect the Urban Decay eyeliner to hold up better to smudging because it claims to be long wearing.

The Maybelline Taupe Takeover eye pencil stood up well in these tests even though it doesn't claim to be long wearing or waterproof.

Chanel ILLUSION D'OMBRE LONG WEAR LUMINOUS EYESHADOW - Apparence

This is a limited edition shade of the Illusion D'Ombre shadows. I picked this up at my Chanel counter but it can also be purchased online here. If you were looking at the shades but weren't pleased with how pink the nude shade is, I would definitely recommend checking this shade out. It's a yellow toned light gold with some glitter that's perfect for every day use. The Illusion D'Ombre shadows are $36 each so you have to really love the shade to spend $36 on an eyeshadow. I've been really interested in these, so I decided to pick this one up because I loved the color. This is described as a cream eyeshadow but it feels like a cream to powder shadow. It's not powdery enough that you couldn't wear a powder eyeshadow over the top, so it's very functional. I'm in love with this and I know I'll get use out if it year round. I wouldn't recommend storing these upside down like you would with a normal cream eyeshadow because the product isn't stuck to the sides or bottom of the jar.

On top, Maybelline Barely Branded Color Tattoo. Middle, Chanel Apparence. Bottom, Mary Kay Cream Eyeshadow in Beach Blonde. Side, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Shadow Pencil in Midnight Cowboy.
As you can see, it doesn't compare to a lot of cream shadows that are more easily accessible.

The Chanel shadow has 0.14 oz of product while the Maybelline Color Tattoos also have 0.14 oz, the Mary Kay Cream Eye Color has 0.15 oz, Mac Paint Pots have 0.17 oz, and Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams have 0.21 oz.

Nail of the Day - Essie In The Cab-Ana

This is two thin coats of the polish with a base and top coat. My ring finger got a little bit of bubbles but I think this is one of Essie's best. It didn't take three coats like a lot of Essie polishes and I'm obsessed with this color. This is a must have for my collection.

Incoco Nail Polish Applique Review

I received this in a Birchbox almost two years ago and I finally am trying these out for the first time. These are the Incoco Nail Polish Appliques. These can be purchased from incoco.com  These vary from $7.99 to $9.99. There are literally hundreds of designs of these things on their site. They have all kinds of holiday designs, snake print, cheetah print, plain nail colors, etc... They're cheaper than the Sally Hansen ones and there are WAY more designs to choose from. I believe this shade is called Bling Bling after looking it up on the site. The website says that 2 strips of 8 are included so I guess because this is a sample from Birchbox, that's why this only came with 2 strips of 6?

This picture shows how the polish is mostly silver glitter, but with a couple of multicolored glitters in there as well.

This coupon code is sadly no longer valid, but I included the picture to show that these are DBP, toulene and formaldehyde free.

In this shot, you can see that these are not completely opaque, but it's not extremely noticeable.

One of my complaints was that the strips didn't completely fill my nail, again nothing extremely noticeable, but if the full size has 8 strips instead of 6, the issue is probably fixed.

My Thoughts: I thought that the strips were a little too sticky. They seemed to stick to everything before they stuck to my actual nail which made them a little difficult to apply. They were wet enough when they came out of the package that they smelled like nail polish. I never had that with the Sally Hansen Nail Strips. Because they were so wet, they needed a little bit of drying time. It was only about 3-4 minutes, so that's less than how long a regular bottle of nail polish takes to dry. It felt very smooth for a glitter nail polish and I didn't apply a top coat. They were a little bit sheer which you can see in one of the pictures above. They lasted about three days which is pretty good, but at the end of the third day I had to remove them. They were pretty difficult to remove, which is typical for a glitter polish. Overall, if buying them from the website comes with 16 strips instead of 12, I would definitely purchase these for myself. They're cheaper than the Sally Hansen ones and there is a lot more variety in the shades. I'm already looking into buying some!

Review: Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer - Luna

Warning: this is a very picture-heavy blog post.

If you're obsessed with makeup, or spend a lot of time watching youtube videos about makeup, you probably heard about the Rimmel Apocalips which are over in the UK, well they're here in the US and they're called Show Off Lip Lacquers. For more information about the lip laquers, go to this post to see the full display and color range.

The shade that I will be reviewing today is called Luna. I would describe it as a light-medium toned peach color. It has no shimmer.

For the time being, these are located at Walgreens and are $4.49, so they're extremely affordable.

Today I tested the wear of the shade Luna and I'm going to report my results  to you so that you can have a better idea of if you want to pick this up or not. *I didn't touch up at all during this test.

The applicator on these is very interesting. It has an indent in the middle so that a lot of product can be applied with one dip in the tube.

Ok, now on to the test of the lasting power. These pictures were taken right after I applied the product on to my lips. Keep in mind I have a light skin tone with pink undertones, so this may not flatter everyone.

Thoughts upon applying: the smell is not pleasant, but isn't noticeable after it is applied to the lips. The formula feels nice on the lips but enhances my lip wrinkles a little bit. Doesn't feel sticky at all.

These pictures were taken after an hour of wear with minimal talking and no eating or drinking. The bottom picture is to show a comparison between my actual lip color and the color of this product.

Thoughts after one hour: slight fading, the color looks less peach and more pink. It felt a tiny bit dry but didn't appear dry on the lips. Overall still very comfortable and looks pretty much the same color as when it was first applied. Still no stickiness

This is a picture of what the product looked like on my lips after 2 hours, some conversations and again, no eating or drinking.

Thoughts after two hours: a little more drying, not anything unbearable, starting to gather a tiny bit where my top and bottom lip meet and also in the corners of my mouth. Color hasn't changed from an hour ago. Starting to take on some staining properties.

And finally, this is what it looked like after three hours of no eating or drinking.

Thoughts after three hours: I would say that all the peachyness of the color has faded, but there is still some color left behind. This isn't my natural lip color. It was decently drying/uncomfortable but it still didn't look drying on the lips. I was really hungry by this time and I could tell that the color wasn't going to change a lot in another hour, so I took it off. Before I took it off, I did a test on my hand to see how much would come off by this point. As you can see below, not very much product came off, and this had stained my lips. Not an insane amount of color in the stain, but still different than my natural lip color.

Final thoughts: If you don't mind reapplying or keeping a similar toned lipgloss with you, I would say that these are amazing. I think that after the color faded and it got a little dry, reapplying wouldn't help with the dryness at all. I would say wipe the color off, apply a lip balm, and then reapply. If you don't mind the color fading, these are good for a stain type product. It doesn't fully stain and some product still comes off, but enough is left behind. Keep in mind that this is a more neutral color and that the brighter colors might not stay on like this color did. I already picked up another color because I liked this so much and for $4.49, you can't go wrong.
