What's In My Bag (Backpack)?

Hey everyone! So I don't carry a purse around because I just use a wristlet and that would be pretty boring to do a video on, so I decided to do a what's in my backpack video!

I was really tired in this video so I apologize for my weird-ness haha.

Valentine's Day Nail Tutorial

Hey everyone! I wish I could film this for you but I left my tripod at home! You can still get the general idea though with this step-by-step!

Step 1: Paint your nails with a base color. You can use whatever color you want! I just really love black nails so I decided to go with black. You could use pink or white for a more festive color!

Step 2: Use a nail dotter (or flatten the point of a toothpick) and make two dots right next to each other on your nail. These dots should barely touch in the center. Mine got really goopy and messy when I did this so that's why I only have a picture of one dot! Sorry! If you mess up, you can clean it up later with your base color.

Step3: After your two dots are applied, use the excess polish that are in the dots and pull down the color at a diagonal to form the point of the bottom of the heart. Do this on both sides. The tops of the dots that you just applied will be the top of the heart, as you can see below.

Step 4: Get a glitter polish. This is the Sinful Colors polish in the color Pinky Glitter. It has holographic glitters which looks amazing against black polish. Paint the rest of your nails that don't have the heart on it with this glitter. You can do this however you want. I just painted my nail starting at the cuticle and stopping half way up the nail (you'll be able to see this in pictures later)

Step 5: With your base color, use a really small dotting tool (or the pointy end of a toothpick) and clean up the edges around your heart so that it looks neater.

Finish with a top coat and you're done! This is how mine turned out! It's so cute!

Drugstore Foundation Review/Comparison

I've used a lot of drugstore foundations since I've started wearing makeup. I use a lot of drugstore ones because they're inexpensive, so it doesn't really put you out of a lot of money if you dislike it. They're a lot easier to try and test out than high end foundations because I typically put a lot of research into high end foundations before I buy them, and I also don't buy very many high end foundations.

In this video I talk about the
  • Revlon Photo Ready foundation
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation
  • Covergirl Natureluxe Foundation
  • Covergirl TruBlend Foundation
  • Maybelline Superstay Foundation
  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara Review/First Impressions

I've only used this mascara three times so this is more of a first impressions post. But I've tried a lot of other Maybelline mascaras and mascaras from other brands so I have a pretty good idea of what I think about this mascara. I have the regular, or non-waterproof version.

I personally don't think that this mascara is as wet as other Maybelline mascaras are when you first open them. It's still a wet formula, but it's a little easier to work with than other Maybelline mascaras are. I actually really love this wand because it really allows your lashes to separate. Even though this mascara is volumizing, your lashes don't clump and they stay separated, but add volume to each lash. It also adds a decent amount of length, which just adds to the amazing-ness of this mascara.

I really love this mascara and I'll have to keep using it, but I think it might be some competition for my holy grail mascara, the Maybelline Colossal mascara. From my first impressions, The Rocket is a little more volumizing than the Colossal is and adds the same amount of length.

This doesn't seem like a big deal on my eyelashes, but I have extremely thin and short eyelashes, so this looks pretty amazing for my eyelashes.

I'm definitely going to enjoy this mascara but I'll keep you updated on whether this becomes my new favorite or not!

Casual OOTD

This video is from a couple of weeks ago, I pre-recorded some videos because I knew that I would be busy at the start of college and that it would be difficult to film videos before the sun goes down so that I can have decent lighting.

It's a casual outfit that I wore to run some errands and do some shopping. It would also be good for school or class because it's so comfortable.

Details of where everything is from is in the video!

Here's the link to my makeup in this video:

Battle of the Black Eyeliners

If you're like me, when you want a black eyeliner, you want it to be jet black. Not grey-black or brown-black. Those are good colors, but when you want a black eyeliner, you want a true black eyeliner, you know?

In this post, I'm going to compare all of the black eyeliners that I own. I have seven black eyeliners, 5 pencil and 2 liquid. I left out my gel eyeliners for some reason that I'm not completely sure of? Maybe I just forgot, but I can swatch them if you want!

I did two swipes of each eyeliner to get a good amount of color built up.

From left to right, the eyeliners are: Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner in Onyx, Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero, Sephora retractable eyeliner in Glitter Black, Makeup For Ever Aqua Eyes in 0L, Buxom Insider Eyeliner in Black Jasper, Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner in black, and Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion.

I would say that the darkest pencil eyeliner is the Sephora Retractable Eyeliner in Glitter Black. If you don't like the glitter, the Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner in Onyx is a very close second.

The darkest black liquid eyeliner is Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion, but it leaves a shinier finish than the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner does. So it's whatever your preference.

As you can see, the Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Zero and the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 0L lean a little more to the brown side rather than a true black.

The Buxom insider eyeliner in Black Jasper leans a little towards the grey side.

Overall, my favorite black eyeliner is the Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner in Onyx. This is great for the waterline because it lasts a LONG time. It's very long wearing. I always cry when I laugh and this stays in place pretty well. If I set it with a black eyeliner, it stays FOREVER. Literally. I have never seen it run/transfer when it's set. It's amazing.
